Many people involved in the education debate today dont really know what they are talking about. They constantly blame teachers, funding, the "system" etc. for kids who are failing. But very few of them have actually been in a classroom to diagnose what the problem really is. I have been in the classroom. I was a special eduction teacher in NYC for five years, and I can tell you that the the main problem is the students. They dont care about education, they dont follow directions, and their parents cannot control them. It is very difficult to educate students such as these. I believe that a vast majority of children in America are out of control, and it is time we focus on the children and the parents if we want to solve the education crisis.
